The Strawberry Moon: A Night of Hidden Light, Shared Blessings, and Ancient Magic
Written by sςɑʀʟɛᴛᴛɛ HƑ ʀɑѵɛɳᴡᴜʟғ Ɲȋțёlɏ
There are nights that pass quietly into memory, and then there are nights that leave footprints upon the soul.
Our June Full Moon Ceremony beneath the Strawberry Moon was one of those rare evenings.
Long before the first words were spoken, the land itself seemed to awaken. Beneath towering pines, the scent of cedar drifted upon the warm summer breeze while the moon climbed higher into the heavens, bathing our sacred grove in silver light. Fireflies danced through the darkness like wandering spirits, and for a brief moment it felt as though the veil between worlds had grown wonderfully thin.
That was when my twin emerged.
From the shadows themselves, Reaper stepped forward as though woven from the night, accompanied by flickering lights and the scent of burning cedar. His welcome was not simply an opening to a ceremony – it was an invitation home. As he spoke of growth, gratitude, and the first harvest of summer, every soul gathered around the fire seemed to settle into the moment. The outside world faded away, replaced by something older… something sacred.
As always, our first task was to invite the Guardians to stand beside us.
I had the honor of calling upon Earth.
Barefoot upon the soil with a bowl of rich earth and a single strawberry blossom in my hands, I asked the Ancient Keepers of the North to remind us that the sweetest blessings are never handed to us—they are cultivated through patience, perseverance, and faith. As the blossom was laid upon the ground and the earth slipped slowly through my fingers, I couldn’t help but feel the quiet strength of the Mother beneath us answering in kind.
Lady Rhavyn welcomed the Spirits of Air with grace and clarity, inviting wisdom to ride upon the eastern winds while reminding us that inspiration often arrives as softly as a whisper through the trees.
Lady Trinity called forth the Sacred Fires of the South with remarkable passion, asking that every false chain and unnecessary burden be consumed within the flames so that only truth and purpose remained. Her words burned with quiet conviction, preparing every heart gathered within the circle for transformation.
Lady Vanity completed our sacred compass by welcoming the Waters of the West. Her invocation flowed like the rivers themselves, calling upon rivers, oceans, hidden springs, and her Undine kin to surround the circle with healing, compassion, and enchantment. The gentle light dancing upon the candle resting in her bowl reflected in every face around the fire, reminding us that even still waters hold profound magic.
Together, the Four transformed an ordinary gathering into sacred ground.
Our priest then guided us deeper into the meaning of the Strawberry Moon, weaving together Norse philosophy, the concept of wyrd, and the understanding that gratitude is not merely spoken; it is lived. His reminder that abundance is found in balance rather than excess resonated deeply. The Strawberry Moon does not simply celebrate what we have harvested. It teaches us to recognize the unseen seeds already growing within our own lives.
Then came one of my favorite moments of every ceremony.
The offerings.
Every blessing shared revealed another piece of the remarkable souls who stood within our circle.
Lady Vanity presented perhaps one of the most enchanting offerings I have ever witnessed. From within a simple white shell emerged tiny fae, their dancing forms creating a miniature sacred gathering of their own. As they blessed our ceremony through light and movement, she reminded us that we are connected not only to those we know, but to countless unseen worlds quietly cheering us onward. Her words were a beautiful reminder that nothing is too small to matter and no act of kindness is ever insignificant.
Lady Trinity offered prayers that touched every heart gathered around the fire. She spoke of releasing bitterness so joy could return, of allowing old wounds to heal so love might flourish again. She then shared a deeply personal request, asking the Gods to bless the marriage she will soon enter in only twelve days’ time. In that moment, our circle became more than witnesses – we became family, celebrating a future yet to unfold.
When my turn came, I spoke of the Fae understanding of June’s moon: Gealach an tSolais Folaigh, the Moon of the Hidden Light.
Among our people, this is the season of the Soilsithe – the Veiled Lantern Fae – gentle spirits who reveal truth to those brave enough to seek it. I offered strawberries as symbols of blessings earned through perseverance, fresh bread that no home should ever know hunger of body or spirit, wine returned to Mother Earth in gratitude for all she provides, and red roses in remembrance of my father, whose strength continues to guide my steps though he now walks beyond the veil.
As I prayed for every weary heart, every grieving soul, every traveler, every child, every family, and every person who had forgotten their own worth, I realized something beautiful.
Those prayers were no longer mine alone.
They belonged to every soul standing beside the fire.
Lady Rhavyn followed with a blessing of gratitude to the ancestors, the spirits, and the powers of earth and sky, asking wisdom, courage, and peace to accompany every person as they departed.
Lord Jarlath then offered heartfelt words in French, reminding us that although we may come from different families, backgrounds, and traditions, beneath the same moon we become one gathering with one purpose. His words beautifully reflected what our ceremonies have always sought to create: unity through shared respect rather than shared identity.
Perhaps the most moving part of the evening came when our priest invited anyone who felt called by spirit to approach the fire. There were no expectations. No rehearsed speeches. Only honest hearts willing to offer gratitude, hope, remembrance, or love. Some blessings were spoken aloud. Others remained silent, carried only by tears, smiles, and knowing glances. Yet every offering became part of the sacred tapestry woven that evening.
As the ceremony drew toward its close, each Guardian was released with the same honor with which they had been welcomed.
Lady Vanity thanked the Waters and her Undine kin before sending them peacefully back to hidden streams and moonlit seas.
Lady Trinity bid farewell to the Sacred Fires, asking that their flame remain within each of us as courage rather than destruction.
Lady Rhavyn thanked the Winds for every whisper of inspiration they had carried into our gathering.
Finally, I returned to the North.
Once more my hand rested upon the earth beside the strawberry blossom where our journey had begun. I thanked the Ancient Ones for reminding us that every harvest begins as a single unseen seed and released them with the words that have become so dear to our circle:
“Go if you must, stay as you will, but do so with peace and our deepest honor.”
Those words have come to mean something very special to me.
They remind us that while rituals end, relationships do not.
The Guardians remain close.
Our ancestors continue watching.
The Mother still walks beside us.
And our family carries the circle wherever we go.
When the final blessing had been spoken, the music began.Sacred reflection gave way to laughter. Conversations filled the grove. Friends embraced. New friendships were formed. Dancing beneath the Strawberry Moon became an offering all its own – a celebration of life, gratitude, and community.Throughout the grounds, enchanted orbs waited quietly for those who wished to linger, each offering another piece of wisdom connected to the spirit of June’s moon.
As I looked around that evening, I wasn’t simply watching a ceremony unfold.
I was watching a family, a community grow.
Every Full Moon, we gather once again beneath the Mother Circle, not because tradition demands it, but because our spirits remember the value of coming together. Whether you are Fae, wolf, vampire, witch, dragon, shapeshifter, mortal, or simply someone searching for peace beneath the stars, you will find no strangers here.
Only companions who have yet to meet you.
The Strawberry Moon reminded us that hidden light exists within every soul. Sometimes it only takes the warmth of a welcoming fire, the embrace of community, and the blessing of the ancient ones for that light to finally be seen.
Until the moon calls us together again…
May your roots grow deep, your spirit remain true, and may you always find your way home beneath the Mother’s Moon.
